Can I upload Sound-a-likes?

Short answer: no — we don’t allow sound-alikes.

At That Pitch, music that intentionally imitates or closely resembles an existing song is considered a derivative work, and we can’t accept it.

Sound-alikes, tribute tracks, or songs designed to closely mimic another artist’s hit create serious legal risks in sync licensing. If a track ends up placed, the original artist, label, or publisher may have grounds for legal action. In those cases, liability typically falls on the creator of the music (you).

Even in situations where a track might technically avoid infringement, it can still create confusion for clients and legal teams. Because of this, libraries almost always pass on sound-alike material.

Our goal is to protect artists, libraries, and clients from avoidable legal issues and keep opportunities flowing smoothly.

Simple version: if it sounds too close to an existing song, and you’d prefer to not get sued (haha), it’s best not to upload it.
