Short answer: no — cover songs aren’t accepted.
At That Pitch, we only work with original music. Cover songs require additional legal clearance for every single sync placement, which makes them impractical for most libraries to manage at scale.
Here’s why:
Libraries license music at high volume. If a track is a cover, each use may require:
Extra permissions from the original rights holders
Additional legal review
More administrative work for every placement
This slows down the process for clients and creates friction libraries try to avoid. Because of this, most libraries give cover songs a clear no.
There’s also legal risk involved. If a clearance issue comes up, responsibility typically falls on the creator of the music (you), not the library or That Pitch.
Our goal is to keep the path to placements simple, fast, and legally clean for everyone involved.
Simple version: original music only — no covers.
