At That Pitch, an Artist Profile is your artist name or project — the brand behind the music you create.
If you’ve ever set up an artist page on Spotify, it’s a similar idea. An Artist Profile represents the identity tied to your songs, including the name, style, and creative direction associated with that project.
How Artist Profiles work
Each Artist Profile acts as its own creative brand and helps libraries understand how to categorize and present your music.
For example, you might have:
A main artist project for your primary releases
A separate name for instrumental music
Another profile for a niche genre or collaborative project
Even if a project hasn’t been released publicly, you can still create an Artist Profile for it.
You can have multiple Artist Profiles
There’s no limit to how many Artist Profiles you can create. This makes it easy to organize different sounds, genres, or collaborations under separate creative identities.
You can only have one Writer Profile
While you can have multiple Artist Profiles, you can only have one Writer Profile.
Your Writer Profile is tied to your PRO and IPI/CAE number, and all royalties flow back to that single profile — no matter how many artist names or projects you create.
Why this matters
Sync licensing often depends on how music is packaged and presented. Having separate Artist Profiles helps libraries match your music to the right opportunities, while your Writer Profile ensures all royalties stay organized in one place.
Simple version: you can have many artist names, but only one writer identity for royalty tracking.
